Bracknell Council is the latest council to join our national scheme. This partnership makes it easy for Bracknell Forest residents, businesses and community groups to get directly involved in getting more trees planted across the borough through sponsorship.
Councillor Guy Gillbe, Cabinet Member for Planning, Transport and Countryside at Bracknell Council, is enthusiastic about this partnership:
“We are excited to be working with Trees for Streets to run this tree sponsorship scheme, which is new in Bracknell Forest. We look forward to working with the local community to green our streets.”
How does it work?
The Trees for Streets online app makes it easy for anyone to sponsor a tree in their neighbourhood by making a request to their local council, empowering people to take an active role in greening their streets.
Residents can choose to sponsor a tree in their street or in their neighbourhood. The council then checks if the location is suitable, and if it is, arrangements are made to plant a tree the following winter – the best time to plant young trees to ensure they grow and thrive.

WHY street trees are important
Carrie Hume, Projects Director at Trees for Streets, says:
“Trees breathe life into our streets. They make us feel better, encourage exercise, and bring communities together. Plus, they make our neighbourhoods more beautiful and welcoming.
“By working in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council, our aim is to empower locals to make their neighbourhoods greener and healthier.”
